New Feature - "Follow" a movie

One way to make it easier for people to contribute to discussions about movies they like is to add a new feature where people can "follow" a movie and get updates via email about new posts for that movie (either whenever a new post is added or weekly summary emails with new posts for all the movies they followed).

What do people think of this feature?

For me personally, I enjoy talking about movies I like but I can't be bothered to go back and search the forums for all those movies every couple of weeks so having a feature that would send me emails whenever a new post is added to movies I followed would make it a lot easier for me to contribute to the forums.

Also, who could I contact about making this new feature? I emailed [email protected] a couple times but no response. I'm a Software Engineer so I am very willing to help develop this new feature. I'm not sure if moviechat is open-source or not though.

Sounds good. It could even be tied into a user's profile here on MC so that those who don't want emails can easily check at their leisure.

I miss the ability to favourite message boards as you could on IMDb.

I regularly checked the boards on my favourites list for new posts, as did many others. It did increase participation, and to form more of a community on the boards.

Jim's the only contact person here, so I don't have any other suggestions. Nice of you to volunteer your help to develop this feature.
