Bill Belichick

IMO he's not that kind of guy. Look at who his boss was early in his career. A lot of people said that Parcells should have stayed retired as a Giant but that did not happen. I think Parcells and Belichick have the same cold calculating attitude towards their careers. Further, I don't see Belichick sitting still if the team goes through several subpar seasons. The level of success the Patriots have just gone through has set the bar pretty high even for Belichick. Further, I could see New Englander's (having known and know them) develop the same let's run him out of town attitude that they gave Dick MacPherson, Raymond Berry, Pete Carroll, and others who failed to win sooner than later. It would fit Belichick's ego to go to a place like Cleveland where he would be perceived as the oasis in the vast desert of poor Brown's seasons. Further, having coached there in the past he is aware of the status that would be bestowed on him if the Brown's won a Super Bowl or two.

I think he will indeed. I don't think he'd want to start anew, again. Probably too old, he feels.
I am very much looking forward to Jon Gruden returning , btw. I love him.

He would never go to NY with the media scrutiny. He wants to go some place where he knows his butt will get kissed without question. Cleveland would be just right and if Bud Adams were still around then the Titans. Not that Bud was easy to get along with but even he could keep his blow hole closed for a few years to land BB.

There is a certain logic to it when you think about it. The Patriots have unceremoniously parted company with players deemed approaching the end of their productive careers so why should it be any different with Brady given the outlook that Belichick has on personnel. Also, remember that BB's one time boss Parcells famously noted that if he is expected to cook the meal then he should have a say as to buying the ingredients. I think Belichick has the same philosophy and is one not to get caught up in the celebrity aspect of players. The public's need for a hero has them wanting star players hanging around longer than what is realistic. Everybody was all for Payton Manning staying as long as he wanted but when production fell to Earth like a rock everybody was wondering who the big idiot was for letting Payton hang on until the SB was in the Bronco's bag.
