Lost oportunities

Hi,raiders...today as i was working,i looked at those workers that have a desk job...and i was thinking...the only difference between me and and is one year in college. It's ironic...if choosed to stay another year in school,i could've be an engeneer with very good paycheck...have you ever thought what your life could've be if you chosed another path then you are now?

How to explain for you to understand...ok...a while ago we had something called...i think in english is "night school"...like you can study from home, you don't have to be present every day at school...it's like working at home, hope it make sense...now we don't have this...option anymore. And i really don't have the time for another year at school.

These days schools are migrating to the Trump University model ... that is all they care about is money, and flunking people out and making it difficult for them is the rule. I lived in CA in the 70's and community college was almost free. Thank god for that. I agree with Bernie Sanders, that at least 2 years of college after high school ought to be completely free.

reply

Don't you have the kind of university courses where you have lectures only for about 2 weeks a semester and the rest of the academic year is free except for exams? I'm not sure what the name of it is. A lot of people over here who are working take courses like that, because you don't have to go to classes all year round.

reply

I really don't know,Mina....and if they were,i can't afford them.It's too expensive.

reply

You can still look into them, if you do have them. Over here they're usually cheaper than full time classes.

It wouldn't hurt to just check it out :)

reply

You're right,but...like i said before,i'm satisfied with what i have...for now😉

reply

As long as you're happy. But it's an option if you ever do decide to go back to school :)

reply

I'm almost 29,Mina...it's too late😉

I admire him/her...but if i want to continue the school,i have to...change the country.

reply

Is that what you're worried about, that you're too old? It's never too late to go to university, croft! I've had classmates much older than 29.

reply

Mina...i can't afford to go to university...not with my paycheck that currently have...it's alright, really.

reply

I think a lot of people feel that, I have certainly looked back and thought of how stupid I was to not go directly to college. I was so sick of school so I put it on the back burner and would go in a year or two. Well that was 20 years ago. I have a solid job now and I can with my wife's assistance support my family however my options are extremely limited because I followed my emotions rather than did what was smart.

reply

I followed my emotions,too...twice and i got "burned"

There are still ways for you to become qualified for the job you wish to have! :)

I'm not sure if it's the same for where you live but here you can do Open University (University from home), college courses (you can start college courses at any age above 16 here), some jobs don't require you to have any specific qualifications and will train you and/or put you through courses within the job for you to become more qualified.

I think if there's a job you really want, you'll eventually get it. It just may take a lot of hard work.

reply

Hard work it's what i do everytime,mate...i'm used to it.

reply

You sound unhappy and thats pretty sad because you seem really cool
Sorry for your troubles...
The USA welcomes anybody who wants to work hard...we give college loans...you could have a great job (nurse, mechanic, postman...) and a great house within 5-10 years!
You seem just the sort of fellow we need more of over here
Best wishes dude

reply

I was just thinking at the irony of fate, that's all.Besides...i have one of the best team by my side,so i'm satisfied with what i have.

The extraordinary is in what we do,not who we are.

reply

Glad to hear it
Cheers🍻

reply

I think most people have those thoughts.

As "they" say, the best time to finish/start/continue going to school/learning an instrument/writing your novel was ____ years ago.

The second best time is today.

An engeneer?

It’s French for “engineer”.

I know...my english...

reply

Not really, for me i made the best possible decision at the time. And after analyzing it, my life would have gotten effed up ANYWAYS. So I just don't give a sh!t anymore. When you're damned your damned. Why bother trying when the whole world is basically against you?

I tired EVERYTHING. And when you still don't make it, the universe is trying to tell you something LOL. Not a religious person, but in the USA it's all about likability. People liked Trump, disliked Hillary for some reason *COUGH*sexism*COUGH* so Trump won. Even tho he is not even qualified for the job and 99% incompetent.

I am educated and pretty much OVERQUALIFIED for just about EVERY decent paying job I apply to. Why don't I get them, they don't like the cut of my jib. Amazing. How my whole life is based on my likability. If we based things on qualifications this world would be an actually functioning place!

Not sure where you live but YES I know QUACKS not actual doctors that got hired for how they looked/acted, no joke.

Many doctors are quacks with NO credentials.

AND MANY people get jobs through connections (father is the boss etc...) Why you see incompetent people everywhere. Also what is called prostitute on the payroll. Hiring someone as your personal prostitute. Yet they never seem to 'work'. Using company money at times to pay them for their 'work'.

Maybe I am just in a ghetto/bad area, but where I live just about 99% of people are crooked.
