If you could watch just one TV series...

...for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Past or current series.

Mine would be the original Dick Van Dyke Show. It ran for five years, but there are 158 episodes.

Twin Peaks. It's a constant source of mystery because Lynch (that magnificent bastard) never resolves all of his plots, and for every question he answers he raises two more questions. I love it!

"I Am the FBI."

The Prisoner-I am a free man!

Followed by:

American Gothic (the original, not the feeble most recent soap opera with the same name)-Someone's at the door!

Very easy answer for me. Bates Motel, hands down!!

Only 50 episodes. The show could have gone on much longer or at least the seasons could have had more episodes.
How I miss it.
But I'm looking forward to The Good Doctor with Freddie Highmore, who played Norman Bates on Bates Motel. He is a wonderful actor!

I'm surprised no one has said Game of Thrones yet, lol. That would probably be my choice, but then again, knowing who died when would diminish the shock factor. It is one of the few tv shows I watch.

I'm with you Leia, it would be Game of Thrones for me too. I loved The Wire too. I never watched it when it first came out. I had to wait for the DVDs from Netflix. Stayed up very late bingeing on that show. Tie: GoT, The Wire.

A difficult question as I find that watching a show too many times kind of ruins it. I would say that the first 5 seasons of Friends, the first 3 seasons of Buffy and Fawlty Towers are pretty much perfect tv for me, but I'm careful about not watching them too often. Ooh, and The Storyteller, I actually wish it had more episodes! One show I feel I could watch every year is Models Inc., but that's such a ridiculous and silly show, I don't think it could keep me satisfied for the rest of my life.

DVD is a great choice. What a great cast. Of course, MTM really sparkled on that show. Whenever she'd start to cry, it was hilarious.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is definitely one of my faves.. and GoT.

Hmm...maybe The Honeymooners!
