You know why a watched pot never boils?

Because if you're watching it, that means the lid is off, and heat is escaping. Put the lid on. It'll get to a boil in half the time.

End of PSA.

What is a PSA?

^ millennial.

I'm actually 36. I'm just not an American.

G.I. Joe had PSAs at the end of the episodes. "Knowing is half the battle."

I have glass lids. What now, smarty-pants?!

However, I have actually tested the idiom. Turns out it's not actually true...

reply

Another dumb idiom, "Never look a gift horse in the mouth" why not? if it's diseased, I don't want it.

reply

Also, "When there's smoke, there's fire." Well, duh... not really.

reply

"Basic etiquette : never arrive on a party empty handed."😉

especially when it's your turn to treat

reply

Hahaha,exactly😉

I'm not taking credit for that remark, that's Emo Phillips, super dry funny comedian

reply

Me neither,phantom8...actually my line belongs to Lara in tomb raider legend...in one moment of the game she's wearing a night dress from where she pulls out two guns😉

reply

yeah, well, she's never empty handed, lol

reply

No,she's very...resourcefull😉

reply

I was actually thinking of putting in a disclaimer about glass lids, but as long as you're using the lid, we are on the same team (the thermal efficiency team, I mean)

reply

Glass lids will fog up anyway, so not exactly watchable.

reply

True, my first thought on the glass issue was a glass pot, and watching it from the side.

reply

"What goes around comes around" is also inaccurate if not merely wishful thinking.
