why no progress on "trending"?

mc.o continues to refer to the most recent post as "trending"...

a trend is a recognizable pattern over time. if i am the latest person to fly to peramus, new jersey -- and i've never been there before -- it is not a "trend"... it's a "latest arrival".

please fix? i state this only to see this site improved; a silly mistake like this can indeed make this site seem like an amateur effort.

and, as offered before, i can write the proper code.

reply

i have not.

i plan on continually contributing. so glad paypal works here now (it helps the site, no?).

have *you* finished donating, dora? if so, why?

Why are you so obsessed with the use of the word Trending here, and why describe it not being changed to your liking as a lack of progress?

Hey, for the first week or so I was here, I ignored the Trending section because I'm not particularly interested in films/shows that are currently the most popular, which is what I thought that section was about. I posted something about it, but have since learned that most others understood just fine what it was about. I know this because I saw *lots* of posters going directly to the Trending boards and posting there -- posters I've never seen post here in General Discussion.

So, who cares? It's working just fine as it is.

Maybe it's the wording bothering the OP. Since "trending" here, is just "latest individual board to receive a post" it's more of a "now playing" thing. Like you, I'm not bothered by the word "trending" used in this context. It IS however, nice to see what's freshly commented on.

reply

It's the wording all right, but this is simply one of many posts/threads the OP has made about this. I've ignored all the others, but decided to respond on this one because he's like a dog with a bone over such a trivial issue.

I agree, I love seeing what's most recently commented on.

reply

Yeah, it's really nitpicky.

I enjoy that trending bar as well. I've been introduced to quite a few previously unknown films through that feature and have gained interesting and valuable insights from the many diverse comments.

Do you realize that there are more pressing issues than a terminology defect?
