Netflix removes chromosome explaination of sexes from Bill Nye show.

It says in that article
"Netflix has yet to clarify the reason for the edit, but it was likely made due to Nye embracing gender fluidity on his new Netflix show, Bill Nye Saves the World."

I had a feeling it was the gender fluidity/trans community that complained about this. I would so much rather that they just add something about gender fluidity than to remove the factual science from the show. I am not against teaching kids about trans , intersex, and other gender fluid issues, but please ALSO teach them biology. X and Y chromosome are different. They are real, physical, measurable things. We can choose what gender we want to live as, and sometimes people are born with an identity that differs from their genetic gender, but we do not choose our chromosomes. You can have operations to change your external anatomy, but it still does not change the chromosomes.
I wish they could teach science and then still discuss how not everybody fits into those 2 binary boxes and that is okay.
Ignoring all science and just claiming gender does not exist is not the way to go forward. Science and sociology can intersect but sociology should not try to erase science.
This makes me sad. As an atheist, science is almost my 'religion' ( that's more of an analogy than a true religion) but it makes me sad when science is ignored or erased.
