'Sandcastles' (1972), 'Girl Most Likely To' (1973), 'Trilogy of Terror'

This made-for-TV Film has always been one of my favorites. It was videotaped
rather than filmed. I spoke to the director Ted Post by telephone several years
ago. He was quite elderly at the time, but was very clear of mind in
remembering details about this movie. He spoke fondly of "Vinny" as he called
the star Jan-Michael Vincent. We both lamented the sad state of Jan's life
these days.

The fact that it was videotaped rather than filmed made this a unique viewing
experience when I first saw it on CBS back in 1972. The movie was very
beautiful and sad, a sort of precursor to "Ghost" (1990).

Several years ago, I was lucky to obtain a one inch videotape from a collector
of this movie. I have not had the time to have it transferred to DVD and
"cleaned up." I doubt that it is the original videotape, although it certainly
is possible. No one (that I know of) here in Tallahassee, Florida where I
live has an old one inch videotape player where I can preview it.

Someday I hope to be able to see this. A friend who works in video production
recommended a service up north somewhere to send it to, but I have been
hesitant to do so, unless I am there with it.

"The Girl Most Likely To" (1973) is another of my favorites. The entire
cast was marvelous in this comedy written by Joan Rivers.

And finally, "Trilogy of Terror" (1975). Karen Black was simply brilliant
in three creepy stories. There was re-make, but it ws not as good in my
opinion.
