Need Help

Hey guys, I'm holding a TV Show marathon, where I will gather the first episodes of a bunch of TV Shows, invite some people over, get some food and drinks, and watch. It will be to showcase the excellent shows from the 2000's. I need some suggestions for shows from the past decade (ones that started in the late 90's are okay too). Shows that are great examples of layered characters, gripping plots (humor is okay too), and risky content for tv. What do you guys think?
