UK viewers. AFTER DARK - Open ended discussion show...

I recall, during the mid 90s, being of a certain age where i was up late enough to catch this show. Some of the topics were intensely dark, informative, interesting and just mind bendingly anarchic television ( anyone remember Oliver Reed's drunken antics? ).

That was the kind of show that has come and gone and will no doubt never happen again. With no format other than keep the discussion going. One show could be 40 minutes long, another over 3 hours. With no input from "the man on the street" or "joe public" but discussion between people who are very well versed in the topic at hand, with many years experience and intellect. I found it fascinating.

There's odds and ends of it scattered around YouTube, but Wiki shows that there were many episodes, over a couple of channels infact, during the years it was on.

I wonder if there will be any way to unearth them again, other than the odd tiny bit of treasure that someone had taped back in 1987 and just didn't tape over it, found it and uploaded what snippets were left :)

I miss that show.
