Which decade had the best dance music?

I will say the 80s. The early 90s had the best house music.

Boy, you guys are really messing with my bread and butter, here. It's the 1990's without a doubt.

Trance Music, Eurodance (who can forget Eurodance?) 2-step, Garage House [Todd Edwards, MK stuff], House Music, French House, Downtempo, Chillout Music, Hardstyle, Freestyle, Breakbeat (Prodigy stuff), Electro, Industrial music, Acid Jazz, Drum and Bass!, Big Beat. So many genres grew and matured out of the 90's.

90's had it all; the 1980's pioneered and the 90's elevated. The 2000's was just a washed out rehash of the greats from the older decades. Same applies to the 2010's.

Besides, 80's drum machines were less versatile than 90's drum machines and synth set-ups. Alot of 80's synths had low polyphony compared to 90's synths. and they mainly relied on Linndrum's and Roland 707's (which is prob. one of my favorite 80's synths).

You can blame modern bad dance music's atrociousness on overly use of dynamic range compression and bad songwriting. The original music back in the day was pioneered by an older generation who were influenced by older musicians. Today's stuff is just so watered down and generic with influences even vaguer.
