This board is dead

just like hip-hop "music". It just proves that rap was a trend that people hopped on just because they are sheep.

It's more the other way around.

Once Hip-hop became more popular, it stopped being "real" i.e. rappers started rapping about garbage to sell records, and it lost all the appeal that it had in the first place.

I personally think it died with Pac and Big. Artist like Jay-z and Em kept it going for another decade, but for all intents and purposes, it was done.

Also, I love how you put "music" in quotation marks.

It's the sure sign of a full blown troll. 

I used to be on the rap "music" bandwagon... and now I realize what it is. It's sh it. You sound like every other butthurt 90s hip-hop fan, literally the same argument. Even the same examples... Pac, BIG, Jay-Z, Eminem... boring. I've been hearing the same sh it for more than a decade. You should realize it was never good to begin with.

Nice try, but the mid 80's and all off the 90's were living proof that rap was capable of producing great music and it did for 2 decades strong.

The thing about rap is it's all about the lyrics and flow of the artist, so once the actual skill went into *beep* in favor of double bass lines with rhymes so piss poor, a grade schooler could have wrote better, it was over for the genre.

The only hope is for rappers to start making real records again and stop trying to appeal to idiot kids in the suburbs who buy music from artist like Justin Bieber.

Yeah. I've been here for more than 10 years now, and up until about 4-5 years ago this board was extremely active. Dozens of posts a day. Threads would reach 100+ responses easy. This was because people thought hip-hop was interesting to discuss... and now they've realized the error of their ways.

And 90% of those post were just Eminem top 10 song threads.

As much as I like his early work, this decline was probably for the best.

No, actually, it wasn't. Most of them were about the "hip-hop is dead" thing that was going on since this was after Nas's album dropped. There were also many threads about one rapper vs. another rapper (like Jay-Z vs. Nas) and current artists people liked. Discussions would get quite heated and intense. The board right now is a mere shell of its former self.
