I know this is quite vague but I saw an advert for a US police drama set somewhere sunny (possibly LA). It appears to be funny and the scenes showed a couple of the officers acting rather dumb. In the advert they were wearing bullet-proof vests and there was a minor car crash (I think) any info would be great. THIS IS A NEW SHOW or at least a show that has aired recently.

Could be The Closer.
Sounds like the new USA series "Common Law".
It is Common Law but Travis & Wes aren't dumb.
The Closer is not a comedy, but Lt. Provenza and Lt. Flynn get into some silly situations sometimes.
Edit: often wearing body armor.

shareYou are completely CORRECT. I think the show is on the USA channel here in the U.S. I just couldn't remember the name of this relatively new show. The guys get 'couples counseling' don't they LOL. I mainly watch 'Cold Case.' Also looking forward to the premiere of the new season of Law & Order: SVU.
