To the poster who was looking for a detective with a computer sidekick

I finally found it. The author is Dave Zeltserman. The detective character is Julius Katz and his sidekick is a miniature computer named "Archie". There is a short story in this month's issue of Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and the author has a new short story collection out, The Julius Katz Collection.
