I doubt it. Even though he practically gave up his birthright for her, they never had kids. Maybe it was a medical issue, or just possibly that they were never in love to begin with. I think she just liked the idea of being married to a royal, which is why she stayed with him. It was all a show.

Ms. Simpson was married twice before without issue. Being 41, does not mean for most women that you are in menopause.

Even ignoring her age (which would have been more of an obstacle then than in the years since anyway), she seems to have had medical issues which would have prevented motherhood.
Besides that, why would not having children prove that they were not in love anyway?
She certainly didn't marry for power - he abdicated remember? They remained married until his death nearly 40 years later.
There were much easier routes she could have taken. I think it was love.
It is heart-breaking to see how people hate on Wallis Simpson even to this day. And I too believe that they were in love.

shareI think that Wallis Simpson was the best thing that happened to both Edward VIII and Britain. Edward was pro-Nazi, or at least sympathetic towards them, and who knows what harm he might have done to the country during the war.
