War of the Gargantuas a sequel to Frankenstein Conquers the World?

I've read that WotG was intended to be a sequel to FCtW and there is scant evidence to suggest it but it never crossed my mind that they would be connected. On another note, I'd like to see both of these films given a modern update remake as they're doing with Ultraman.

I've read that, as well. Regardless of the intentions, though, both movies turned into stand-alone kaiju films. As I understand it, 'King Kong vs Godzilla' developed out of the idea of having Kong fight a giant version of Frankenstein's monster, and that idea later turned into 'Frankenstein Conquers the World.'

If you're into kaiju, I highly recommend the book 'Eiji Tsuburuya: Father of Monsters.' It has lots of great information about how the films were made.

I've been happy with the resurgence of giant monster movies the last few years. I suppose I should be grateful that CGI makes it possible.

It's explained in the Japanese version, but left out of the American.
Supposedly some cells get knocked off of Frankenstein during a fight in FCTW, and those cells somehow grow into the gargantuas.
