I have an idea for a film. Should I make a Kickstarter?

I have an idea for a film. It is basically Hercules waking up in the modern day and having to fight a threat from ancient Greece. I've started scripting and I think this could be a really good project as long as I have a bit of a budget. I'm an amateur filmmaker and would like this to be my first full length feature.

If you want it to be successfully funded you'd probably need to first make it a fully developed short film or just really good trailer and post it to the kickstarter.
