Has anyone tried this before?

They say that when Sin City was shot, "the scene when Marv climbs out of the manhole and staggers up against a wall was acted out in reverse, then shown forwards, to give an otherworldly appearance to Marv".

In stop-motion animation, motion blur is created to give the make the movements more fluid and natural. But what if you did the opposite in a live action movie?
If you filmed a character with a high speed camera, you could get a lot of stills where the images were clear as crisp. So what would happen if you used 24, or even 48 if we are talking about a digital projecotr, of these images per second in a movie? There would be no blur, and it would probably give the impression that something weird was going on.

Yes, that's a good observation. But they'd appear so slowed down, that there'd be very little movement from one frame to the next and so it usually doesn't appear jerky, it appears smooth. There's not enough movement for a blur to be noticeable, even if it was added in.
