It seems that today's film industry is populated by movie that are bigger, faster and now. Bigger explosions and cgi pollute the modern movie. Louder, louder sound design. More complex cgi scenes with deep bass robot sound effects to keep the audience entertained. And now. The modern movie goer wants next years blockbuster now. The hobbit desolation of smaug does NOT need to come out once a year for three years. The amount of cgi is astonishing and not in a good way. 10 years from now directors will go back to movies like Transformers or The Hobbit and see bad cgi and remaster it, much like george lucus did with the original Star Wars movies. The movie is a form of modern art and art takes time. The more you rush a piece of art the more it will show. Instead of taking time to polish a film directors are now painting with cgi... And it shows...
