Which invention do you think is the most ignored one in tv-series?

I'd have to say the day after pill.

I find it hard to believe that no one has call waiting. People on soaps are forever saying "I have to get off the phone, I'm expecting an important call!". Who doesn't have call waiting these days?

reply

I seem to recall them using the day after pill unwittingly slipped to a character on Guiding Light in the late 1980s to kill off her baby. The characters involved escape me.

It's not possible to use day after pill to terminate a pregnancy. They are for preventing a pregnancy.

reply

Something being factually incorrect never stopped the soaps from using it to advance a storyline.

British soaps are always slow with ringtones. Even if a character has an iPhone, it rings like an old mobile.

Lol..I'm watching a telenovela from 2010 and one of the characters has a ringtone which sounds like my first mobile in 1997.

I thought someone in here would've said "A toilet" . A lot of the time when characters are being held hostage (or something to that effect) viewers will point out that there aren't any 'facilities' for those characters to use.

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.

The TV. No one ever watches TV on the soaps! Well there are a few exceptions. If some vitally important news is being reported and it concerns a character who is near a television set, the person will turn the TV on.

Also the kitchen sink is never used to get a drink. All these characters have bottled water in their living rooms.
