Are superhero films artistically undervalued ?

I made this post because most fans of the MCU actors who aren’t fan of them because of The MCU always say : I wished he did something more artistic or something that could help them stretch more their acting muscles or showcase better their acting talent.

Seriously not because they are not gonna win Oscars for those parts doesn’t mean they aren’t doing something really good.

An actor developing a character for 10 years might be much more challenging than any Oscar bait film. They portray arcs, different stages of the same character and different notes.

For Example RDJ with Iron Man at the beginning he was the selfish character playboy to latter show some care for the world and see how his job affected people.

Becomes a father figure to Peter Parker and latter becomes a father himself to Morgan.
Also in the first films it was all about showing his comedic skills to latter portray and since Civil War we saw much more of his dramatic skills,

In the MCU We have seen all our actors portray character growth and see an arc from when they began till now.

For directors it’s all about being able to adapt stories from the pages to the big screen and make them interesting to all audiences from kids to adults from the hard core fans of the comics to your average movie goers.

Constructing a superhero film is not easy. Creating fictional places like Asgard to Wakanda requires a lot of work. The costumes and so many other stuff needs a lot of creativity.

But all this I mentioned many people who are hard core movie fans just don’t see it.

Getting the actors who connect with audiences and writing the characters that we will spend at least 2 films with them requires a lot of work.
