Rectify Snubbed

I've only just discovered this drama series but can honestly say it packs one of the most subtle, yet powerful punches I've witnessed in recent years on primetime.

Aden Young was tragically snubbed for a best actor nomination and could have easily taken Bonneville's slot.

I also think Abigail Spencer is one to watch, and the writing/direction is equally deserving of recognition.

I know Sundance is a small cable network, and this is one of their first original series, but I hope other fans will agree that the Emmys made a big mistake snubbing Rectify.

****SPOILER****

The aerial shot of the two adjacent cells, with Daniel in one, and the other being packed up and cleaned - hits like a ton of bricks.

I recently finished watching Rectify. It was not what I expected, but I thought it was a very good show.

It is disappointing that it wasn't nominated for any Emmys, although, if it were on a channel like NBC, it probably wouldn't have been allowed the slow pace in storytelling.

I thought it was only going to be a six episode series, so I was happy to see that it got renewed for a second season.

Truly some great performances and beautiful direction.

Watch Veronica Mars!

You're right, maybe it will take another series to garner recognition. It's just a shame though because I can only see the creator doing one more series - the story they're telling is too intimate.

I'd be happy if Rectify got a Best Actor nod for Young at the Globes or SAGs this year instead.

I absolutely adore Justified. Such a brilliant series that's hardly ever recognised. Timothy Olyphant deserves more than one Emmy nomination for its entire run.
