Emmy Catagory Idea
I would like to see an Emmy for Outstanding Network. It would be awarded to the network that has the best overall presentation of programming, marketing, variety, etc.
"...and we'll see you tomorrow night!"

That wouldn't be a good category at all. Each show is what should be judged not a network since they have very little in the quality of the network, they just go by ratings and there have been many great shows get cancelled because of more ratings and many really bad shows stay on the air for years because of ratings, to the network, the only thing that matters is money.
It would be like Best Movie Studio.
No contest. HBO would win every year. Or else it would get too political and OWN would win!
"the best that you can do is fall in love"
HBO will win that every year
shareI'd like an Outstanding Younger Actor/Actress a la the Daytime Emmys.
shareHow could this ever be determined--I don't mean, voting-wise; I mean, what would be the way to determine the success of the rational you provide? Members from each network would vote for their own network. It's not a great idea, IMO.
"I'm not afraid, Mother. I'm not afraid."
But how would you judge a network's quality? because in TV land it would appear they want to make money over quality. I would hate to see Two and A Half Men lead it's network to victory based on advertising revenue
That being said, most quality shows end up cancelled. Jericho, anyone?
