What exists at the edge of the universe?

This question has always fascinated me. Do you think it just keeps going on forever, or do you think there's some sort of "edge" that you could theoretically "cross" if you were to make it there fast enough?

Discuss.

The universe is (theoretically) infinite.

Einstein's General Theory of Relativity suggests the universe is finite but unbounded.

It's not only theoretically infinite, it must be actually infinite. And yet...it can't be infinite because it must exist in a place and places are finite...except, to contain the Universe its place must itself be infinite. But then the place is just the Universe.

The Universe cannot exist as it must.

Why would you cross it there was nowhere to go?

reply

So what do you think you'd see at the edge?
