TCM movie timer recordings axed

Twice in the last 3 or 4 days, this has happened. I did timer recordings on a Panasonic DVD recorder of two movies on Turner Classic Movies (TCM). (The Last Picture Show from 12:30 a.m.-2:45 a.m., and The Swimmer from 9:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.) Afterward, I scanned the movies (played them at 30x speed) and found they were ruined. What happened 45 minutes into the first movie and 120 minutes into the second movie was, a little white pop-up box appeared onscreen that said, "Attention! Press [Sel] or TCM may go off air." A couple of minutes later, the whole TV screen went white with a message that said "TCM is temporarily off air." A friend of mine who was watching the same channel at the same time said he didn't encounter any problem. Anybody know what the hell is going on? I have not noticed this problem with other channels, just started seeing it on TCM.

I wish I knew. I also have a Panasonic DVD recorder and the only thing worth recording is TCM.
