Breathless: aspect ratio in a French film

I'm watching BREATHLESS on a Criterion Collection DVD. IMDB says the aspect ratio is 1.37-1 but I don't think it is. The closest I can measure on a flat-screen is 1.32.

1.37 is listed as the Academy Standard set in 1932
1.32 is listed as the Full Aperture for silent film.

I've seen a few other foreign films that seemed to be displayed with an odd aspect ratio like BREATHLESS. Does anybody know what was the aspect ratio used for BREATHLESS?
