anyone who uses Amazon to get movies...does this annoy you?
I've been a customer of Amazon's now for over ten years at least, and the following is something I've noticed they've started doing in the last couple of years, and I find it really annoying.
It used to be, whenever I'd go onto Amazon, select the Movies and TV dropdown, and type in a movie title (and I'm talking a specific and unusual movie title, too, not some generic title that might have 5 or 10 different releases with the same name), Amazon would display results STARTING with that specific title, and what followed would either be titles similar to it in name or subject matter.
Now, however, it seems Amazon is avoiding displaying results of the film I'm looking for, either by shoving the actual specific title match to a low spot in my results list, or sometimes even avoiding displaying it all. This practice used to be prevalent when I knew a movie was only on VHS, but lately (in the last year or so), they seem to be doing it with DVDs too.
Sometimes the only way I can actually find the film I'm looking for is to type not just the title into the search box, but also a performer, or a year of release, or some kind of additional information. That might get the correct display, but even then it may not happen on the first try; I might have to do it with different information before I find what I'm looking for.
I consider this to not only be a frustrating practice that Amazon has adopted now, but also an insidious one, too, because they are purposefully subjecting us--the potential customer--to a waste of time while we wade through their listings searching for what we are specifically looking for.
