The musical after the movie.

This season on Broadway we've had stage versions of "Amazing Grace", " Tuck Everlasting", "American Psycho", "Waitress" and "School of Rock". I'm seeing these bit by bit and then checking out the movie to compare. Right now, I'm watching "Big Fish" for the first time, having seen the musical back in 2013. At the time, I thought it was sweet but lacked the magic. I've been checking out the CD of the show and have gained an appreciation for at least the score, some leading performances and the special effects. "Tuck Everlasting" touched me, more because I gained an appreciation of "Big Fish", but I remain underwhelmed by "Finding Neverland" which I want to give a second chance. I thought that "Rocky", while not a masterpiece, was really sweet and had one of the greatest conclusions I've seen on Broadway. Other stage versions of movies that I found fun were "The Wedding Singer", "Toxic Avenger" and "A Christmas Story". My all-time favorite musical adaption of a film is "Monty Python's Spamelot". A few disappointments but I will save those for another time.
