Do people frequently gain weight when they come to the U.S.?

Do people frequently gain weight when they move or make a long visit to the United States? I really think they do, but my evidence is anecdotal at best. I am an American with many South African cousins. It's a long story. Many of my South African cousins seem to gain weight when they come here. One of them said the U.S. has tons of unhealthy food, huge portions and many restaurants and food stores that are open late or 24 hours. When retired tennis legend Martina Navratilova first defected from Czechoslovakia to the U.S. she gained a lot of weight. It was remarkable considering how many calories are burned by professional tennis players.

I knew an Asian guy who came to study. When he first arrived he was thin a a rail. When he left he had gained a good 150 pounds. One of the few fat Asians I've seen and I've lived in Asia. Too much mcdonald's for that boy living on campus lol

College is a great place to gain weight. Many people refer to the "freshman fifteen". That is the weight that many students gain their first year away at school.

I depends what kind of travel you're doing. My wife and I spent a month a few years ago trekking through national parks, camping out, and eating by the tent, and I lost weight.

What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.

We did not even after we moved to the US completely with the help of Columbia Movers https://starkmovers.com/moving-from-boston-to-columbia/. Been living here for quite a while, no changes so far.

Oh, we didn't gain weight either after moving to the US with the help of https://cratosmoving.com movers. We have been living here for 3 years and so far have not noticed any changes either :)

Idk if it will happen in the future, I'm only planning to move to the US, but I hope I'll be able to take this under control aha... btw I'm currently looking for a moving company and would be really thankful if you could recommend me something. I found some good variants via https://www.mod24.com/ platform but maybe you have some positive experience to share.
