Is Paris flooding?

Unfortunately in the U.S. news of the rest of the world is hard to get on TV, its usually all about Trump. I was shocked this morning when the news ticker said that artwork from the Louvre is being taken to safety because of the flood waters in Paris. I know from reading Yahoo news the other day that Germany is also having bad flooding. Does anyone know what exactly is happening?
Thirty years ago this would be considered an important news story.

You're so right. The only coverage of this, that I have seen, has been on Google News. It's those stories that made me do further searches for more info.

I remember when the Arno River flooded, and did serious damage to a great many of the art works in Florence ... the early 70's, I think. It was major news. Now, as you said, we see repeated clips of the same "pronouncements" from Donald Trump.

I remember when the Arno flooded and people from all over the world volunteered to help rescue the artwork.
I also remember when we were able to follow the Vietnam war as it happened. Its like the U.S. is being cut off from the rest of the world. I wonder if people in other countries get better news coverage. CNN used to be a good news source but now its like a TV version of a gossip rag.
I'm sick of Trump, he reminds me of certain dictators from the 20th century.

Paris is right along a river unfortunately. Rivers flood. The Thames in the uk floods every year as well. Plus the louvre is underground so they have to be careful

Thanks, I don't remember the Seine flooding so much in the past. I have friends in the U.K. ( London & Manchester) so I know about the Thames flooding. Is this the first time they've had to move the paintings in the Louvre?
I used to live near a small river (Little Calumet), it occasionally flooded but usually just the streets would flood. Seems like there has been an an unusual amount of flooding around the world for the past few years.

I'm not sure about the louvre tbh. It had flooded in Paris before though.
Would take a while to remove all the paintings in the louvre though!

Which is likely to become more frequent in the coming decades.
