Jim Hutton, father of Timothy Hutton

Does anyone remember Jim Hutton anymore? I am writing his biography, and I want to contact anyone who has had a personal experience with him or anyone in his family. If I use your story, we will sign an agreement.

Seems that in the Midwest the baby boomers remember Jim, but the current youth don't even remember Tim. Is it this way in your area?

I will appreciate your comments. Thank you.

Yes, I remember Jim Hutton very well, from films like PERIOD OF ADJUSTMENT and NEVER TOO LATE, and I loved him on the NBC series ELLERY QUEEN. It is odd to think that there are a lot of folks out there who don't even know who Timothy is, but yes, I remember Jim Hutton very well. Talented and good looking actor...it's spooky sometimes when I look at Tim how I still see his dad in him. The resemblance to his dad is really clear in ORDINARY PEOPLE and THE FLACON AND THE SNOWMAN.

Yeah...I think the older Tim gets, though, the less he looks like his dad. Jim was a very busy actor, and he chose to go to television movies and series about 1970. The history of films in theaters vs. television viewing had changed drastically from 1960 when his first hit "Where the Boys Are" came out. Also, the type of comedy went from situations to stand-up routines. A lot of changes, and he went to tv just like several other actors. I believe there is still a large following for Jim because of all the emails I've gotten and the number of 'virtual flowers' left on his grave over the last 6 years (internet lets you do lots now). Thank you very much for your comments.

Oh, yeah. The movie was a hoot when everyone was in the water tank. Thanks for the comment. --Connie
