Man on the Moon (1999)

what do you all think of this film? I really like this movie, Carrey played Kaufman justice and it's an all round great movie that should been nominated for academy awards, a very underrated film, IMO.

reply

Well, it was critically acclaimed when it came out. The only people who don't like the film are those who don't like Kaufman.
It's a touching and brilliant film.

IMHO, Jim Carey was brillant in this film. He's a little scary sometimes in his role where he can be just hysterical one minute and then almost turn on a dime and be maniacally evil, the next.

This was a good movie with Jim Carey excellent as Kaufman. I was never a fan of Andy Kaufman, I felt he was actually legally insane, he frightened me.
I'm not a fan of Jim Carey either, he's too manic most of the time. However, I think the movie was brilliant...told the story well.

This was probably Jim Carrey's finest performance by far.

Excellent film, mainly because of the frightening performance by Jim Carrey in the title role...Carrey's performance in this film is bone-chilling, that's how accurately he nails Kaufman. The performance should have earned him an Oscar nomination.
