Patsy Kelly was an open lesbian back in the 30's. She was a funny, funny lady. Rosie O'Donnell will be excellent as Patsy. Maybe a little taller than Kelly, but same chubby build and Irish looks.

Rose O'Donnell would be a good choice to play Kelly, though something tells me a Kelly biopic would be a hard sell as a theatrical film...possibly a TV film.

I had the same thought! Actually, Rosie IS the Patsy Kelly of today, like playing the best friend roles. But who would play Tallulah Bankhead?

Having a TV movie about lesbians is almost like having a TV movie about the Black Dahlia (how did THAT ever happen?)
