Person who should have a biopic

Josephine Baker. Whoo! The things that woman did were insane. Don't know who would play her though. Maybe Kerry Washington? Or even Anika Noni Rose, if she gains some weight and wears heels the whole time. Even when barefoot.

Kerry or Anika would be good choices to play Josephine Baker. I would prefer someone such as these two actresses who are fairly new to the acting scene.

....Funny you should mention Baker. I was watching "Thief of Bagdad" ( 1940 ) and the
signature melody for the princess was based on a song that Miklos Rozsa wrote. A black
woman sang this song at one point. I decided to look her up and it was Adelaide Hall, a
forgotten figure that at one time was bigger than even Baker, though she was based in
London as opposed to Baker's Paris. Anyway here's her IMDB link
( she can also be seen on YouTube ):

Thanks for that. I had never heard of her before.

reply

....Yeah, I didn't till today. When I checked her out on YouTube, It led to Duke Ellington.
I thought of a song of his I always liked, Rocking in Rhythm, and looking it up I found a video
with Lorraine Feather's ( Jazz historian Leonard Feather's daughter ) added lyrics.
It's definitely worth a look:

A few I came up with

Edward Leedskalnin
Ignatius Donnely
Madame Blavatsky
Nikola Tesla
Akhnaten
Charles Fort
Chief John Ross
Chief Stand Watie
Gram Parsons
John Wilkes Booth
Gen Lew Wallace
Thomas Henry Hines
Hank Williams

There is one about Hank Williams.
Your Cheatin´Heart from 1964 with George Hamilton.

reply

Oh no, not orange George! Does that biopic even count? Get a real southerner to portray the man. An unknown one. Walk into any Wal-Mart in Alabama and pick one! Seriously, George Hamilton? Although, I should really watch it first before I continue slamming the man.

You do know that HBO did THE JOSPEHINE BAKER STORY back in the 80's with Lynn Whitfield playing Josephine. Whitfield was wonderful and won an Emmy for her performance.
