The more I read about this mysterious guy, the more fascinated I become.

Until recently, I didn't even know who he was.

Found out more about him thru a great book I am reading now (not his bio or life story btw)and am convinced he deserves a movie. No matter your opinion of the guy, he has had one glamorous and interesting life.

Think of a Goodfellas (my 2nd fave film) meets Charlie Wilson's War with a touch of Bond thrown in for good measure.

reply

Not bad, not bad, but it might turn out a bit too much like "Goodfellas" or "Scarface". A rise-and-fall movie with Michael Pena as the main guy.

reply

I'll second a Gary Cooper movie though I wonder about Ewan MacGregor playing him...I like Renee Zellwegger playing Doris Day. The one that stopped me cold was Justin Timberlake as Fred Astaire...you're serious? Why Justin Timberlake?

reply

A TV movie was made about Louis Armstrong was made back in the late 70's early 80's with Ben Vereen playing him, but I think Satchmo is worthy of a theatrical biopic. Gary Oldman as Karl Marx sounds like an awesome idea.

reply

I put down Fred Astaire because I know he can dance (not as well as Astaire) and he looks like Astaire!

reply

Hmmmmmmmm, I don't know...I have to wonder if Timberlake is a mature enough screen presence to be believable as Astaire would age throughout such a film.
