I know she wants to be free but I'm worried it's too cold outside. It could possibly get as cold as minus 10 C around here. Every time I open the lid to make sure she's alive or feed her (I'm worried she'll get stuck in the honey I've been told to feed her too, so that's another concern) she starts crawling up and makes me really sad I have to close her in every time. I want to free her as soon as it's safe.
shareawww ❤ get a bigger jar? better yet go to the store and buy a tent and some plants and flowers, put the plants inside the tent then put your ladybug on the plants inside the tent. get the biggest tent they have, don't worry about the price! 😊

Lol a tent. I bet most tents are as big as my apartment. She has a pretty decent sized tuperware container and a little tree stick with moss on it.
Maybe you and I can move into a bigger apartment together and then we can get a tent for our ladybug, what do you say ;)
If you have a local zoo that has something like a butterfly garden (an indoor enclosure that stays warm year round), check with them and see if they'll let you release the ladybug there. Since they're interested in helping insects, they may be fine with it. While ladybugs can be a pest to various crops, they're not normally hazardous to other insects.
BTW, I've done a similar thing (twice!) when I've found ladybugs in lettuce I've bought (organic, so I didn't have to worry it would have toxins). The lettuce was from California, and the ladybugs survived transport to another part of the US (and at least several days in my refrigerator!). One time, it was in late spring, so I just let the insect outside. But the other time was in mid-winter, so I contacted a local zoo (I have friends who work there, so it was a bit easier to get to the right person to ask) and they gave me permission to release the ladybug in their facility.
Please don't do this without their permission. There's always the possibility that your ladybug could be harmful to their collection.

Find someone who grows hydro weed. They will give your ladybug a wonderful home where she can live in a tropical environment and gorge herself on those lousy *beep* spider mites to her hearts' content.

Thanks Grayovac great idea, I never thought of that. We have a butterfly world (they take care of lots on creatures not just Butterflies) on the island where I can take her perhaps. I'll do that on my days off.
The weed might be a good idea but this one day we were smoking weed and we were giving a spider some hoots. Then months later the I saw the same spider and he'd gained a lot of weight and I think he got the munchies, so I'm hoping to keep parsley at a healthy weight ;) I don't think weeds the thing for her.
