Identity of Old Classic WW2 Movie

I have been trying so hard to locate the name of a childhood favorite movie and would appreciate any help here.

The movie takes place in some pacific jungle setting. An American military company spends a lot of the movie trying to get to a location while being chased by a large force of Japanese soldiers. At the end, they reach a settlement clearing near a beach and set up a last stand. Wave after wave of Japanese attack from the jungle, and just as it seems they are going to be overran, a large contingent of American forces come in from beach landings and save what remains of the original force.

I could have sworn the movie was called Never So Few, but it’s not it.

I have loved old war movies since my childhood, and this was one of my very favorites. Again, any help would be so appreciated.

This could be Cornel Wilde's BEACH RED. As a war movie fan, you might try The Siege Of Firebase Gloria (1988) Sahara (1995) Britannic (2000) Each film is covered in my new book ADVENTURES IN THE B MOVIE TRADE.Here's the trailer and website: https://briantrenchard-smith.com/
Best wishes in these difficult times!
