Do what we drink define us?

I'd like to think it doesn't but I suspect assumptions are made based on drink orders. Even if it is done without realizing it. I remember being in the bar portion of a restaurant and the server was making comments based on the drinks being ordered. I suspect he was trying to be funny but it came across as kind of douchey.

That is very interesting. I think that in some cases there are certain stereotypes that tend to be perpetuated by what we order at the bar. For example my go to drink is a Long Island iced tea. I've had servers call me "bro" or make jokes about the Jersey shore. Meanwhile a gentleman next to me ordered a vodka martini and the server made a James Bond crack. i think things like this have always been there but have been subconscience. Now suddenly it is seemingly appropriate behavior. No idea why.

It doesn't necessarily define us, but choosing what we drink can make us healthier or feel better. I gave up drinking raw water, for example; I only drink water that was cleaned by shungite, ordered this stuff via the Internet: https://shungite-c60.com/product/classic-shungite-for-water/ Honestly, I didn't think much about it before, but now I can't just stand bad water.
