I don't live in a house, but you just reminded me to keep a spare key. I like that fishing line idea.

I stash mine in the old ashes of my 55 gallon drum-barbecue...

....and I invented barbecue as well.

The license plate idea is brilliant. I just sent my re-registration to the DMV. I have to remove the plate, in order to apply the new tags, so I'll be doing that within a matter of a few weeks.

I hide mine under the dog igloo too.

The car license plate is the perfect place. Genius!

You'll have to hide a screwdriver somewhere too. 

Now the thieves know new places to look, jk.
I have magnetized boxes that hold extra keys for the home and cars. I won't though tell where they're hidden.

You mean those little black "hide-a-key" boxes like these: https://www.amazon.com/Hide-Under-Magnet-Large-Black/dp/B003P4IH9O

My brother used to use those, but he always over did it. He always put TWO spare car keys on his car One under the bumper, and one in the rear wheel well. Probably where you hide yours. 

I used to say, "why not just carry a spare key in your wallet?" Now, it's probably NOT too good an idea to carry a spare house key in your wallet, because if you were to lose your wallet, and a thief found it, along with your driver's license with your address on it...but if a thief found your wallet with a spare car key he has no way of knowing what car you drive. Right?
