“My name is Joe Biden. I’m Dr. Jill Biden’s husband,” the 80-year-old president began his remarks at an East Room gathering of women-owned businesses.

“And I eat Jeni’s ice cream — chocolate chip. I came down because I heard there was chocolate chip ice cream,” he said.

“By the way, I have a whole refrigerator full upstairs,” Biden added at his only scheduled public appearance of the day. “You think I’m kidding? I’m not.”

Netizens were appalled at Biden's insensitive statement following the Nashville elementary school shooting. They called him evil and pathetic for making a mockery of those who died.

While many remarked that the speech was highly inappropriate, some pointed out that the people heard applauding and laughing at the jokes were equally "sick" and "insensitive."

Goofy fact check. You bring up the time as if it helps your point but the shooting was already news before his address so don't act like it was happening concurrently. It's 100% true and doesn't need much context because he literally joked around right before addressing it. That's the only context that matters.

The remarks speak for themselves. I guarantee, if Trump made these comments, you really think Newsweek would “add context?” Trump’s ice cream remarks would be the top story full of outrage and righteousness indignation.

It's on video....and you fact checked it? Lol, always having to offer explanations = failing.

What context are you talking about?!!! He came down to address the shooting of 3 children and 3 adults! Their bodies were still at the school! And he jokes about ice cream!!!!!!! There is absolutely no context that can explain this absolute disregard for the grieving families. This isn't a gaffe! It's complete disregard for people's feelings. It shows that Joe Biden only cares about his political agenda.

Yet another ridiculous attempt to protect this fool. Whether early in the developments or not, addressing the shooting should've been what was done first but instead took a backseat to ice cream and his need to get a good look at the kids in the audience.

President Joe Biden has been recognized, including by himself, as a "gaffe machine", prone to making inopportune comments or statements in public.

Earlier this week, the president was mocked by Republicans after mistaking Canada for China during an address to the Canadian parliament.

Now, Biden has been accused of making another poorly timed remark, this time ahead of an address following the mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, which left six people including three children dead.

The Covfefe got more press than Joe making inappropriate comments.

It will never make the mainstream news.
