I'm all for equality and everyone being treated the same. But how the hell is Monkeypox racist when it literally refers to the first cases being observed in monkeys ?

It's racist because everything is racist to a large portion of the population. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years they change the term "black market" because people are going to think it perpetuates a negative stereotype of black people being thieves.

shareIt seems like the WHO are the ones being racist because when they hear "monkeypox" they think of a particular race. They are changing the name because people associate monkeypox with the gay community and therefore aren't afraid of getting it.
