Should you be legally protected from firing for refusing to use preferred pronouns?

If someone decides at work that they are the opposite sex, or non binary, if you keep referring to them with the pronouns that match their biological sex, should you face punishment? Termination?

If so, should laws exist to protect people from their right not to be a participant in a gender delusion?

reply

Yes, pronouns are the religion of the woke cult, employees should have religious protection from their nonsense.

I suppose it could be argued that it's disrespect and that disrespect could be framed as bullying. Which is a no-no these days in the workplace.

The question of whether you should be legally protected? I guess it depends of whether you are perceived as being an asshole (bully) about it.

The solution is probably to not refer to that person at all to avoid any tricky BS, but of course that's not practical in most workplaces.

I'd be ok with referring to someone as 'they' if they asked me to, but when it starts getting into the weirder made up pronouns it's going to be a problem because some of them are just silly. The person being asked to use them knows it, and the person doing the asking knows it. So it's just devolved into a stupid insulting-to-the-intelligence childish game and that's when people are going to buck back against it.

Good Grief, Kowalski if you don’t know if it’s a he or a she…then it must be an “It” 🤭 Problem solved. Or…if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck. If it looks like a man, talks like a man, it is a man. In other words a “He”. If it looks like a woman, talks like a woman, it is a woman. Same here. It’s a “She”. I sure the hell ain’t going to say “Drop drawers”!

Should people who pose purposefully inflammatory questions because they are too piss weak to just state opinions as their own and prefer to prompt other likeminded bottom-feeders to do their dirty work for them face punishment? Termination?

If so, should we have the legal right to slap some sense into their deluded and attention seeking faces?

Questions, questions….

If what comes out of your mouth is so obnoxious you have to invoke a special freedom law to be allowed to say it ...

Well you're an asshole then eh?

try the idiom: "If you havent got anything nice to say.... dont say anything"

reply

Intent.

If you're intending to be a dick, do it maliciously, and continue to do so after being spoken to....yes, you should be reprimanded.

If you do not wish to use pronouns...then use their proper name in place of the pronoun. It's really easy.

And if I want to call Steve, Steve, and not his drag queen name?

reply

Yes, you should be protected by law. It's not your fault if your eyes identity them as cis-male or cis-female. Just like if they identify as the opposite sex, this is something they can't change either. Your eyes just instinctively see them as the gender they were born as, therefore, there is no reason why you should get fired for using a different pronoun.

So, with that being said, freedom for all is the most obvious solution for this issue.
