EU ban of fossil fuel cars by 2035

Total idiocy if you ask me. A typical electric car takes 8 hours to charge. I don't have electricity in my garage. Where am I supposed to charge my car?

reply

We'll figure it out. You're not the only one with this problem.

reply

Most Americans don't have this problem. They have garages in their house. That's why electric cars are so popular.

reply

But they don’t have 16 hours to charge the car

reply

true, but it still costs $3000 to $5000 to put a car charging station in your garage. but if your area local power plant is coal or natural gas, then whats the point of having an electric car?

in order for electric cars to be a viable option, there would have to be more charging stations than are gas stations,
I can fill up my car in 10 minutes, it can take up to an hour to charge a car.

reply

A level 2 charger costs less than $1000. Anyone who has added a circuit to their panel can install one. Charges overnight when rates are lowest.

reply

Most? Maybe in the rural/suburban areas. Americans in cities don't have a garage, or even own thier living spaces lol.

reply

It is idiocy. Feel-good bullshit to make the morons feel better. It won't work and it won't happen.

reply

Where does it say you will be allowed to have a car then?

reply

Wait till woke retards find out where electricity comes from, boy will they be embarrassed.

reply

wait, I thought it was free? :)

These so-called “leaders” are bought and paid for by China and India who will never sign these asinine agreements that will do nothing to combat “climate change”.

None of the climate fear mongering predictions have ever come true. They’ve spent 50 years lowering the bar to a point that “climate change” is daily weather.

“1000 year fires and floods! The worst since 1987!”

reply

I hope they plan on building some nuclear plants.

reply

It's a ban on newly manufactured cars.

Still can drive and buy used petrol/diesel cars.

2035 as well. Seems to have been moved back 5 years as in 2020 they said by 2030

I'm no fan of electric cars by any stretch but fast chargers will do you for upto 200 miles in 20 to 30 mins nut yes a normal charger will take about 8 hours.

In england it is pointless as most live in whats called terrace houses which is at street level. No drive or garage with the car parked on the main road so what do they expect cables strewn all over the place. Nonsense.

reply

They want to do that in California by 2040. I can predict exactly what will happen in either scenario, hehehe.

First off, the oil industry is gonna do everything it can to stop the "all-electric" BS. Second, a lot of people are going to protest because cars that run on electricity are expensive, and it's dangerous to maintain such a vehicle when there are places without charging stations, vs. the number of gas stations available in both regions. Cities in Europe will raise taxes to fund all-electric public transportation, causing many people to get angry. CA won't have such a luxury, considering their public transportation (just like in the rest of the US) is abysmal. Third, the few power plants still up and running, and all that unreliable "green energy" aren't gonna be able to keep up, and there will be rolling blackouts all across Europe and parts of CA, because they refused to keep up with the ever-growing demand for electricity, and used tech that has been shown time and time again not to be very reliable, or the coal plants they chose to keep up instead of nuclear will pollute more than the nuke or natural gas ones ever did. It's gonna cause an energy crisis that will make the one in the 70s look like a picnic. Eventually, if enough people demand it, traditional power plants and gas-burning cars will come back until better electric tech comes along in the decades afterwards.
