Impeachydoos.

10 Republicans voted to impeach, the highest number of same party representatives to vote against a sitting president. 5 Democrats voted to impeach Clinton. Trump is disgraced.

reply

We're still stuck with him for another week, though....

reply

He can still do damage, make foreign policy decisions that harm us in an effort to inflate his ego and save his legacy.

reply

Now your finding out?

reply

You'd think if Trump had that much of an effect on the lives of people that maybe the government has just a bit too much power. Instead, the gimps who are railing on about this voted for (tada!) more government control.

When will these morons ever learn?

reply

What made Trump effect the lives of people more than the average president is his twitter account combined with his divisive nature and his impotence as a president. The power was there, but he barely used it, and when he did use it, he used it incorrectly.

Instead of approving extensive covid measures that were ready to go, he blocked them. Instead of using his power and influence to build a wall that he campaigned and won on, he used it to separate families which put far more kids in cages than the Obama administration could dream of.

reply

Your point?

What makes you think it won't happen again? What makes you think it isn't happening again? Right now we got a government on a witch-hunt that too many stooges on the street are all too happy to see happen. Both sides do it, FFS. Why does it make you feel better when someone you agree with does it?

reply

This government isn't doing what Mitch McConnell tried to do ten years ago which was to use Congress to make Obama a one-term president. That is a real witch hunt.

This government is impeaching a guy who is already out of office. It's the weakest witch hunt in the history of witches and hunting.

reply

It's doing far more than that. It's seeking to label people who've done nothing wrong as terrorists. Why won't you see that? Do you enjoy goose stepping that much? Jesus.

reply

"people who've done nothing wrong"

1. Trying to overturn an election because you lost is an affront to democracy.

2. Refusing to allow a peaceful transition of power is an affront to democracy.

3. Storming the Capitol and attacking police officers including beating one of them to death is criminal.

4. Looking for elected representatives in order to kidnap/beat/try/kill them is criminal.

5. The FBI has already declared QAnon and other right-wing extremists groups as domestic terrorists.

6. The actions of the mob were terrorist in nature.

7. Attempting to replace democracy with a dictatorship is vile and disgusting.

Sectionalism and insurrection are criminal and unconstitutional offenses, therefore the mob will see stiff prison sentences. The only shame is that the well-connected, powerful and rich who incited won't be joining them.

Why won't you see that?

reply

No. You obviously don't pay any attention to anything that shows your party in its best light...

"I know looking forward that the members of the Biden team, who have been nominated or have been appointed, are now moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about what looks very similar to insurgency movements that we’ve seen overseas. Where they germinate in different parts of the country, and they gain strength, and it brings together an unholy alliance, frequently, of religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists — even libertarians." -John Brennan

The Democrats are looking forward to their witch-hunt and they're going to use people like you to support them as they actively carry out an investigation of parties that have absolutely nothing to do with what you're talking about.

That's a police state.

reply

Speaking of police, Capitol rioters injured 140 Capitol police officers. Head injuries including concussions from blows from objects, broken ribs, multiple broken bones, smashed spinal discs, one officer lost his eye, another was stabbed, injured lungs from bear and pepper spray, police were pushed down stairs, trampled and punched.

There are officers who served duty in Iran who said they found what took place in the Capitol with rioters to be scarier. 38 officers tested positive from covid since Jan 6th. Two were so traumatized that they committed suicide!

I believe ALL parties involved should be held accountable, not only the common folks who have been arrested, but the rich and powerful who incited them. Numerous rioters already named multiple politicians who helped and/or incited them to violence.

It sounds like you hate police and are against law and order. Are you against equal justice, too?

I suggest you try to watch at least one news source which isn't spewing propaganda so you can become a better informed citizen. Reuters is good.

"Bomb-making manuals' found in home of Proud Boy who stormed U.S. Capitol"
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-protests-arrests/bomb-making-manuals-found-in-home-of-proud-boy-who-stormed-u-s-capitol-idUSKBN29Y2Y5

reply

Tell me how Libertarians are responsible for the riots?

And the fact of the matter is that you have zero idea about what I believe or what news sources I use. YOU'VE already made a narrative up in YOUR head telling you what kind of person I am. You want to talk about bigotry? Think about that. You keep wanting to point to only the items that support your ideas on this matter without seeing the bigger picture. Maybe it's you who who needs to step back and reevaluate.

This had nothing to do with the riots but you're so desperate to keep your little narrative alive that you can't stop focusing on it and you're willing to justify whatever might come from these "investigations" using that. But I guess if I'm against KGB-like tactics I want no laws at all? Please. Are you so invested in dichotomies that you can't see the world in any other way?

reply

If it walks like a duck...

It's obvious you support police being attacked and beaten, the destruction of democracy, the killing of Pence and members of both Houses and the installation of your Messiah Trump as dictator or you wouldn't be crying about the Capitol rioters being held accountable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPV-vTRm1mw

Four years later and you're as unhappy and miserable as ever! It sounds like your Messiah Trump didn't do much to help you!

reply

Quote me where I support the DC riots. I'll wait. Again, you've created a narrative in your head that really has nothing to do with me.

The quote from Brennon is about a witch-hunt that will extend to anyone who isn't a goose stepping Democrat. Even some Democrats are going to find themselves caught up in it.

I never voted for Trump. Another bit of narrative you made up. You can't state a fact about me but you keep making proclamations because you need that to paint me in a bad light. These are the same tactics used by any authoritarian movement to justify the suppression and murder or anyone who isn't a dye-in-the-wool supporter of heavy handed regimes.

reply

Don't feed the trolls.

reply

Yeah, I probably shouldn't. I'd like to think this person is a clueless teenager but sadly it seems more people are extremists who are willing to live and die by their politics, like a fundamentalist.

reply

I know its very difficult to resist, but ignoring them and watching them go crazy is way more satisfying.

reply

Four years later and you're as unhappy and miserable as ever! It sounds like your Messiah Trump didn't do much to help you!

reply

You're obviously supporting lawlessness, insurrection and Trumpism since you're the one crying about the Capitol riots being investigated and the criminals being held accountable.

Not all Trumpites vote.

reply

Quote me or shut the fuck up.

reply

I will quote you -- "shut the fuck up."
So much for your Create a Scenario and then Run Away from it.

reply

"It's doing far more than that. It's seeking to label people who've done nothing wrong as terrorists. Why won't you see that? Do you enjoy goose stepping that much? Jesus."

You've shifted your argument. You tried the scare tactic of a democratic witch hunt that might come for democrats. We already got that. Mitch tried to make Obama a one-term president, and the rest of the repubs engaged in the six-year Benghazi hoax to stop Hillary. You didn't recognize it was a witch hunt because you supported it.

Then the DNC gets hacked by Russia around the time Trump said Russia would be rewarded for finding Hillary's emails, and Trump's campaign adviser is caught emailing people saying he knows the info the hackers gave to Wikileaks. But we can't investigate those connections? Even if we keep it quiet which Obama did before the 2016 election? Yet Trump can call up Zelensky and ask for a public investigation into Biden?

But none of that is important because Capitol rioters are being called terrorists?

Either they are terrorists or they are hapless believers of whatever the authoritarian tells them, making the authoritarian the terrorist. Take your pick.

reply

I never said if it was a witch hunt. You're another one who can't see past your little dichotomy and you're shifting the argument. I have no problem with Obama bringing to light whatever he might have.

You're making a terrible assumption that I'm talking about one party versus another. I'm talking about Big Government versus the citizens. Brennon is planning on attacking civilian organizations if he has even an idea that they may contain whatever undesirables he deems as terrorists. How can you support that? How can you support defending your political party to the point that they get to target people they simply think may be guilty of having their definition of subversive thoughts?

reply

Your paranoia does not interest me. There were no FEMA camps. There was no gun removal. You will not be incarcerated for being a Trump supporter. There's always supposed to be something coming for you that never materializes. But you still believe it anyway. Your brain is your own problem.

reply

I'm not a Trump supporter. You keep on trying to go back to something I already clearly dismissed.

Sadly you have nothing but your false narrative to lean on. Brennon already stated his intentions.

reply

I didn't call you a Trump supporter. I'm merely rejecting the 'slippery slope' scenario that the rhetoric against Trumpists will lead to mass incarcerations of those not involved in the Capitol riot.

Brennan wants to reduce homegrown terrorism. He's not changing the definition of terrorist.

It's either that, or we blame Trump for brainwashing them like Charles Manson. But you and I know repubs would just spew the same "it's divisive," "it's a witch hunt" garbage if dems went after Trump.

So as usual, the wealthy and powerful will get away with it while the lower class people take the fall.

reply

Reduce homegrown terrorism by attacking the libertarians? Wow. I see who's brainwashed here.

reply

Lol. Libertarians getting upset at what Brennan said is not Brennan attacking libertarians.

reply

"even libertarians." -John Brennan

Reading. Can you do it?

reply

You're confusing profiling with incarceration.

If you're a libertarian who abides by the law, you don't have anything to worry about. But if you're engaging in some sketchy shit, you're affiliation with libertarianism is going to increase your chances of getting you caught.

reply

Why? Why single them out? Give me a logical reason for you justifying bigotry.

reply

The Feds are aware of how popular Alex Jones' stripe of libertarianism has become. But merely watching Infowars isn't going to come close to putting you in jail. That's your paranoia.

Also, it's not singling them out. There were many on that list you provided.

Bigotry? Really? You don't think leftists were profiled during the Weather Underground's reign of terror? Come on, man. It's time to join the real world.

reply

I'm not claiming that profiling anyone is right but apparently you have no problem with it. That's bigotry. Your not recognizing it for what it is is the another reason that dichotomies keep your mind in check.

reply

Profiling is what intelligence agencies are supposed to do. Without it, there's no chance of curbing any terrorism at all.

This is reality we're talking about. Libertarians seem permanently stuck in fantasy.

reply

Yeah, the US government has never subverted a political organization to paint them up as something they're not. Keep goose stepping.

reply

And you can keep on goose-stepping to the propaganda that the dems are going to take away your guns, your bible, your freedom, etc etc etc.

reply

Nor am I religious. You just keep making up shit about me to make yourself feel better about subscribing to a false dichotomy. A very fucked up thing to do.

I find it odd that you mention the Weather Underground but keep denying that it happens. Oh well, you're either totally out of touch or you're a troll.

Have a nice day.

reply

The problem is you aren't basing your argument on what has happened. You're basing it on a misunderstanding of what Brennan's words meant.

reply

Perhaps but you could also be creating your own misunderstanding. You could be "correcting" what Brennan said into what you'd like to think he's saying.

Have a little empathy. More importantly, if he does start going down what you consider a slippery slope, what are you going to do? Keep cheerleading these "investigations" or face the idea that you were wrong and we do indeed have a modern form of McCarthyism brewing?

My problem with the current duopoly we have in play is that too many myopic followers refuse to hold their own team's feet to the fire when they start operating outside of the better boundaries of civil service. It's happened with every administration in my lifetime and I still have yet to see people really go after these injustices as long as the right little letter is behind the offenders' names.

reply

There's nothing to correct on my part. Brennan specifically said he wanted to uncover insurgent movements.

Imagine if an FBI agent found surfboard wax at the scene of a bank robbery and decided to check the beaches for surfers who use the same wax. Is he planning to lock up all surfers, or is he doing his job?

reply

Yeah, you're a cheerleader.

reply

Don't fall back on the rump "witch-hunt" crutch.
He's an intellectual midget who peddles the same crap over-and-over thinking people won't see through it.
You lose me at "witch-hunt."

reply

It has nothing to do with Trump. You'd realize that if you'd read the thread instead of getting triggered.

reply

I read your post. That's what I'm responding to.

reply

The disgrace is the Democratic Party turning into Communists.

reply

Four years later and you're as unhappy and miserable as ever! It sounds like your Messiah Trump didn't do much to help you!

The disgrace is the Republican Party has turned into the authoritarian party. Or QAnon party.

reply

The disgrace is people like you lying and making stupid assertions just because it's fun to do so.
Why don't you just tie a fire cracker on to a cat's tail and light it it? Is that less fun than yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater or fomenting anger in a peaceful world?
You're just an effing liar and you should know better. I'm disappointed in your parenting.
