Sorry but more choice doesn't mean more freedom when

Many of those dont even have access to baseline decent healthcare. Or when having that "choice" means one of the repercussions can be crippling life long debt.

by that logic Somalians have more healthcare freedom than a Canadian. because the Canadian has to (mostly) just go to his government paid for healthcare provider. while a rich Somalian can go and see the best and greatest doctor and have that choice because theres more private doctors there!

Its just a classic case of richsplaining.

"dont worry peasant you have the choice of access to the best healthcare and insurance plans in america! you have the choice of being able to afford your own doctor coming to your house monthly to do checkups and being airlifted if theres an emergency to be overseen by a team of doctors!"

"I lost my job and insurance during covid. I cant afford any insurance right now and my family relied on my insurance from my job. I just need at least basic care incase anyone gets sick I cant even get that.."

"ya but you have the choice! enjoy your freedom!"

still waiting to have this explained to me? how is poor or working poor people getting subpar care, going into massive debt, or avoiding preventative checkups and treatment more free than a system where everyone is covered? but also has to the option to seek private care?
