PSA: If all votes aren't counted by Dec. 14th, 2020

GUS will go into full effect. Right now it's only in play.

States get to ignore the popular vote and send their own electors to court which would most likely favor Trump with ACB in play. Right now we're only getting all kinds of lawsuits by the Trump team atm.

I suggest the left don't get TOO happy about MSM proclaiming 'president-elect' and jump the gun just yet. A possible reversal may be even more damaging if it came to this route. In most cases though it would get resolved by Dec. 8th but you know Trump and how he does things or tries to anyway.

Worst case scenario is Dec. 20th, 2020 where if there is still competition, military will not know who gets the nuclear codes.

People seem to forget these folks were on cameraat all times during counting .

PSA : Loser.

reply

Nobody knows what GUS means.

reply

Gus the mule from the Disney 1976 movie. Bill Maher did a piece on that.

reply

Not how it works. If the E.C. doesn't deliver results that can be certified in Congress at its joint session on 1/6/21 or if no candidate has 270 electoral votes, a contingent election is held in Congress. The House of Representatives chooses a President and the Senate chooses a Vice President.

So, Biden/Pence? Cue the theme song:
https://youtu.be/sqKCx4OAPCs

No matter where they go
They are known as the couple.
They're never seen alone
So they're known as the couple.
As I've indicated
They are never quite separated,
They are peas in a pod.
Don't you think that it's odd?
Their habits, I confess
None can guess with the couple.
If one says no it's yes
more or less, with the couple.
But they're laugh provoking;
Yet they really don't know they're joking.
Don't you find
When love is blind
It's kind of odd.

reply

No, because in a contingent election each state gets a single vote in the House, regardless of how many congressional districts it has. Republicans control a majority of the state congressional delegations, so Trump would be elected.

In the Senate, each senator casts one vote and the candidate with 51 votes or more is elected VP. As it stands now, that would mean Pence gets elected.
