Why do companies purposefully have interracial couples in ads?

Unless the companies have a political agenda, I think they are just trying to reflect reality. Interracial marriages are more common and accepted now. It's no big shock or big deal.

Also, more people of color are featured in commercials because they are more upwardly mobile now, also reflecting the times.

To sell their products, companies have to appeal to as many people as possible. It's boils down to money.

At first viewing you think, well they’re trying to target a diverse audience. But really the people who make up these production teams who make the decisions do it to virtue signal. These people are obsessed with their political views like a religion. You can just imagine them holding their chests out every time they produce one of these ads no one watches. Like they’re changing the world. In reality advertising is utterly worthless.
