I'm Curious About Life Insurance Companies

This would be a good story for some journalist who can actually do some investigating instead of just getting someone's opinion at WalMart.

If you're getting a new life insurance policy in July 2020, is death due to Covid19 excluded for payout?

How about disability policies?

reply

Unlikely, but I would read the policy's fine print.

reply

It shouldn't be, but it's something you would need to go over in detail with your agent and question him on specifics.

reply

I worked in health insurance for quite a few years and pandemics were excluded from cover, not sure if it’s the same for life insurance but I would assume so.

What I'm getting at is that these guys have the numbers, it's their bread and butter, it's where the rubber meets the road.

What are they saying?

What is the monthly premium on a policy for a 40-year-old man in July 2020, and what was the same policy in July 2019? And cycle through all the brackets.

Also,

What did they know and when did they know it?

Did they start seeing this Covid crap in China in December? November? Earlier? Did their prices bump higher at that time?
