It's only surprising to CNN's ignorant viewers. It's similar to what some other studies and loads of compelling anecdotal research has found since the beginning. The establishment shitcanned hydroxychloroquine for political reasons, because the President talked about it. You're right about TDS motivating that. The only thing I'd disagree with would be the word "now", since TDS has been killing people in various ways since its inception.

Doctors are prescribing it when they have a better indication when it works. If doctors use it when they know it works, and don't use it when they aren't sure, it gives a success rate that fools the conspiracy-theory-minded into thinking it works on a higher percentage. It doesn't. You're just bad at math and logic.
An underlying problem is the difficulty in knowing exactly who it will work on. Any doctor that prescribes it to a patient who has no indicator that it will work on them is asking for a malpractice suit.
This whole dynamic is the exact problem with how people attach to conspiracy theories. If something is 30% true but 70% false, the 30% is enough to convince the conspiracy-minded person to ignore the 70% as long as they like what they hear.
The people who are pushing hydroxychloroquine as a cure for covid-19 are doing it because they like the idea of Trump being correct and the "leftist libtard media" being wrong.
You cannot tell a Trumper, or Trump, anything. They will not read data presented to them, they will not listen to experts, and they are allergic to changing their minds if given new facts. In short, they are the biggest drag on the greatness of this country there has ever been.
