WTF? Trump praises the "S.S." - says they did a 'great job' !
In his Tweet today, the President praised the "S.S." and said they did a 'great job' leaving jaws dropping around the world in horror.
His idiotic Tweet:
“Our great National Guard Troops who took care of the area around the White House could hardly believe how easy it was. ‘A walk in the park’, one said. The protesters, agitators, anarchists (ANTIFA), and others, were handled VERY easily by the Guard, D.C. Police, & S.S. GREAT JOB!”
For Trumpers on this forum who blindly follow him, and don't know what the outrage is all about (that's all the Trumpers on this forum), the SS is typically used to describe Adolf Hitler’s notorious Schutzstaffel of Nazi Germany. Hitler’s infamous paramilitary group - NAZIS. And he praised them.
Giving him benefit of the doubt (but why should we? he's the President) he probably meant the US Secret Service which has been distinctly known as 'USSS' for the past 80+ years, purposely not to confuse them with the SS.
While Trumpers cheered him for referring to the US Secret Service as 'Nazis', patriotic Americans were offended and the blowback was fierce.
Legal expert Elie Mystal tweeted, “This man literally just called the Secret Service (USSS) the ‘SS.’ That really just happened.”
The Lincoln Project, a group of anti-Trump conservatives, posted, “The SS? Come on.”
Katie Phang, a legal analysist for NBC News and MSNBC, tweeted, “Did Trump just use ‘the S.S.’ in a tweet?”
Yup, he did Katie! And Trumpers have no problem with it.
